Shocking Surprise
Although it was a little strange that he had come in to eat alone, as most of the officers ate together, it was not unheard of. While Courtney kept her smile and was being friendly, the policeman didn’t seem to want to engage much, so Courtney left him to enjoy his meal. When he finished, he asked for the bill, and while Courtney was clearing another table, he had already left the diner without a word.

Courtney didn’t think anything of it, that is, until she reached the table to clear up and pick up the bill. At first glance she didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, but on a closer look she saw a note written on the bill, for her, from the policeman. Reading the note, Courtney was extremely taken aback as she had never before received such a comment from a customer.
