Waitressing is by no means a simple job. Not only do you have to be on your feet all day, carrying back and forth, but you also have to have patience to deal with all types of customers, and try and serve them with a smile on your face, no matter the kind of day you may be having, and while some customers may be kind and friendly, some can be rude or just plain strange. And all that is without even mentioning the low pay and long hours…

Stange Unknown Customer
Like most diner’s, The Lamp Post Diner had a number of regular customers and many of them were servicemen who were based at a nearby station, some with posts in the vicinity, who would stop by for a quick meal before returning to their posts. Courtney was no stranger to serving police officers, and mostly they were regulars. Today there was one policman, eating alone, who she was certain she had not served before.
