When it came to deciding about what to major in and eventually where to take her career, Heidi knew she needed to rely on her mother’s input, as she had always done. Her mother had always pointed her in the right direction, and there was no problem that was too big for the older woman to handle. When it came down to it, Heidi picked subjects that could give her the kind of career she had always dreamed about.

Embarking on a University Adventure
Upon careful consideration, Heidi picked Newcastle University, majoring in Economics and Management. Working towards her degree, she was one of the thousands of students who had to find their own accommodation, unable to live in the hostels. These were overcrowded living areas that students were extremely lucky to get into, and were rarely accepted into, meaning that many students had to make their own way while studying. This would become a key part of her story.
