DiCaprio purchased Belize’s Blackadore Caye Island back in 2005 for $1.75 million, and decided to build 36 luxury villas to put on sale for $5 million each, as well as 36 residential homes. All the construction was powered by solar energy and was down with local material, and the plan is that one can only purchase reusable water bottles on the island, that there will only be clean energy vehicles, and that all food products will come from local sources and grown organically.
